In-House Geologist One of the highest regarded Resource companies out there

The Mining Recruitment Group is a boutique executive search firm focused exclusively on the unique requirements of the mining industry.

We are currently accepting applications on behalf of our client, one of the highest profile mining companies in Vancouver, for the role of Senior In-House Geologist.

Our client is looking for a business minded geologist with at least 5 years of experience to be a key member of their technical team to help identify, model and value potential acquisition opportunities and ensure their current portfolio of production staged projects are on course.

This is a very dynamic role and would be suited to big-picture type thinkers with an eye for detail.

Ideally, the incumbent would have some familiarity with resource estimation and block modelling and experience with either Surpac or Gemcom.

This role is a great foot in the door within one of the most profitable resource companies out there and comes with tremendous learning potential and career growth opportunities. This is a Vancouver based role operating out of our Clients’ head office, with no more than 20-25% travel expected.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in geology with a strong understanding of ore deposit geology
• Significant field experience in both exploration and mining
  • Understanding of both regional and deposit scale geology
  • Ability to understand controls on mineralization, structures, grade distribution, etc
  • Exploration experience from target generation through to drilling
  • Production experience from a grade control perspective
  • Understanding of mining methods and statistics
• Strong mining software experience –Gemcom, Surpac, Vulcan, Datamine or Minesight
  • Experienced in resource estimation using block modeling
  • Geostatistical knowledge including variography
