The Mining Recruitment Group is a boutique executive search firm focused on the unique needs of the mining industry.

Our client is a management group with oversight over multiple resource companies ranging in size from $25m to $220m in market cap.

In order to facilitate continued growth, our client is looking for a Vice President Corporate Development. In this newly created role, the incumbent will report directly to the Executive Vice President, and will have responsibility for the Group’s corporate development activities, including the forging of new relationships with institutional investors, raising capital to fund the next phase of development and new acquisitions, an expanded marketing program, and assisting with corporate governance and regulatory matters. A key component of the role will be in sourcing new opportunities for the Group.

Candidates will have a university degree in earth science or geology and a minimum of 6 years corporate experience in the mining industry. Prospective candidates should be able to adapt to a variety of tasks and be willing to take on new challenges. Ability to work effectively in both an independent and team environment are a must. Candidates also need to have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and solid computer skills including knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Duties will include the following:

  • writing news releases;
  • representing the companies at conferences and road shows (travel is required);
  • running analyst trips;
  • overseeing the updating of websites, summary sheets and all corporate and marketing material;
  • preparing portions of MD&As, annual reports and other documents as needed;
  • monitoring exploration programs in order to prepare required documents;
  • performing other duties as required.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar capacity with other established resource companies.

This position will be based out of our clients corporate head office in Vancouver. Travel will be required for roadshows and conferences.
