The Mining Recruitment Group is a boutique executive search firm focused exclusively on the unique requirements of the mining industry.

We are currently seeking applications on behalf of our client, a junior silver exploration and development company that is based in Vancouver and focused on its flagship asset located in Coahuila State, Mexico

You will be responsible for implementing and fine tuning the exploration and resource definition programs at the flag ship project in Mexico and you will have overall responsibility for all exploration activities on the project. You will be expected to be actively involved in the fieldwork on site and will take leadership of geologists and contractors and will guide their activities to ensure the success of the work programs.

In addition you will also work closely in a supporting and advisory role to the Operations Manager. Specifically this may involve; aiding in negotiation to secure surface and mineral title in applicable areas, ensuring that the company meets all its governmental obligations, and ensuring all appropriate environmental, mining, and exploration permits are in place and up to date. You will also work to continue the Company’s positive relations with the various governmental agencies and local communities, a task that is critical to the success of their endeavours.

Part of your mandate will also be to actively seek out new opportunities in line with the Company’s corporate strategy. With this in mind it will be incumbent on to you to provide sound advice to the CEO on areas where you see gaps in our exploration and business plan in Mexico.

The ideal person would have experience working in Mexico and other Latin American countries, Spanish and English fluency is essential, have experience using GIS (Mapinfo) and modelling programs (Gemcom) and have a track record of success. They will work on a 20 days on, 10 Days off rotation.

Enthusiasm and a desire to progress within a dynamic company is a must for the job.

Your Major Areas of Responsibility,

  • Implement exploration activities according to the exploration plan.
  • Work with contractors on initial mine plan design including optimization
  • Fine tune the exploration plan and budget to achieve our goals and objectives.
  • Oversee all aspects related to the exploration and resource definition programs of the project which also includes; land management, data management, and maintenance of technical standards.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate resource and reserve estimates in compliance with NI 43-101 standards.
  • Provide monthly reviews of the project to the President that report exploration results and expenditures, and provide interpretions of the results and make development recommendations.
  • Oversee the work of exploration teams and contractors, and bridge any cultural gap between the Head Office and site.
  • Develop a world class technical exploration team, including developing a program which attracts, and then trains and mentors local talent.
  • Coordinate and liaise with outside consultants and business partners to aid in achieving exploration goals and identifying other exploration opportunities.
  • Identify other exploration opportunities that are consistent with our strategic plan, and then assist in negotiations for the acquisition of such opportunities.
  • Ensure all of our internal policies are complied with, particularly with respect to safety, security, social development, and environment.
  • Ensure we are in compliance with all necessary government regulations, and that any reporting requirements are completed within deadlines.
  • Interact and represent the Company as appropriate with all Governmental agencies, local communities, and non-governmental agencies.
  • Represent the Company at technical meetings and conferences when required.
  • Approve press releases and other public disclosure documents.
